Staff Members of the HSE Faculty of Business Informatics Participated in the IEEE Conference on Business Informatics
The IEEE Conference on Business Informatics took place from July 15 to 18, 2013, at the Vienna University of Technology in Austria.
Conference participants included representatives from the HSE, as well as the University of California (USA), University of Sydney (Australia), Saint Petersburg State University (Russia), Lancaster University (Great Britain), University of Geneva (Switzerland), Aalto University (Finland), and others.
Sveltana Maltseva, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Business Informatics; Mikhail Komarov, Associate Professor of the Department of Innovation and Business in Information Technologies; Alexey Dorofeev, Associate Professor of the Department of Corporate Information Systems; and Olga Tsukanova, a second-year postgraduate student of the Faculty of Business Informatics, spoke at the conference.
HSE staff members organized the International Workshop on Web 3.0 and Smart Commerce (W3SC2013) as part of the conference. The main goal of the workshop was to accelerate research activity in these areas.
The workshop was supported by the HSE Academic Fund and the HSE Office for International Cooperation.

International Student Projects by School of Business Informatics and Hogeschool Rotterdam
Project cooperation between the HSE School of Business Informatics and the Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences (Hogeschool Rotterdam) started in 2016, and for the last two years, undergraduate students of Business Informatics have successfully participated in the development of information systems for Dutch companies.
Student from Big Data Systems Master’s Programme Takes Part in IBM’s Best Student Recognition Event 2015
IBM held its annual forum, the Best Student Recognition Event, in Amsterdam on July 8-10, 2015. The IBM Corporation has been carrying out the event since 2008, bringing together some of the best students in Europe. Around 70 students attended this year’s event, including HSE student Dmitry Shostko, who studies Business Informatics in the Big Data Systems Master’s Programme. Dmitry was rated one of the top-10 students for the second semester.
German Week 2015 at HSE Saint Petersburg
During the XII Germany Week in St. Petersburg, the Gorky House of Scientists under the Russian Academy of Sciences hosted an international research conference ‘Russia and Germany – regional economies after sanctions,’ organized by the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce and HSE.

A group of sociologists from the HSE presented the results of their academic work at the 10th conference of Yale University’s Center for Cultural Sociology. A special panel session of the conference was devoted entirely to the research being carried out by HSE’s Institute of Education on the life trajectories of Russian pupils.
